Saturday, September 11th, our local fire company organized the 1st Annual Firefighters 5k. They Eagle Fire Company is raising money for a new fire engine, as well as supporting the National Fall Firefighter Fund – both of which are fantastic causes!
Ashley was kind enough to allow me to come on out and photograph the event for them. I was super impressed with the event! For a first year 5k, it ran ridiculously smoothly. Congrats Eagle Fire Company and Ashley for a job well done! Here are the first few photos from the race. I’m already looking forward to next year!
Prior to the race, a tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy of September 11, 2001. A moment of silence was held at 8:46 a.m., the moment the first plane hit the World Trade Center in New York City.
The racers lining up at the start line. The race drew 124 participants, a great number for a first year event! Congrats Eagle Fire Company, all your volunteers, and the racers for coming out!
The first place male participant finished the course in 20:01. Great job!
The first place women's finished crossed the line at 22:52. Amazing!
Congratulations to all the winners of the 1st Annual Firefighters 5k! You were incredible!
